Hello All,
As I write this, the clocks have just sprung forward and we all look forward to another planting season.
After last years very challenging year weather-wise, let’s look forward to this year. I hope we can all challenge ourselves to try a new practice, learn something new about our operations or work with local experts to attempt new trials on our farms. In the area of soil health, consider trying a new cover crop. Or planting a buffer strip. Or improving a grass waterway. I would encourage you to implement something each year (even replacing trees in a wind break) as constant improvement each year does add up in the long run.
I would also like to encourage everyone to attend our Summer Crop Tour in early August. We have a variety of speakers and topics to be presented and we will have an excellent meal at supper. Watch your email for more details.
In closing, I hope everyone has a safe, productive and profitable year.
